Our People

Variety remains a family-owned and operated business and has elected the guidance of a diverse board of directors since 1980. Board members serve a 2 to 8 year term and are responsible for overseeing Variety’s finances, operations, and strategic planning. Our culture is one of support, safety, and respect. At Variety we embrace a diversity of ideas and cultures and our actions are guided by fairness, honesty, and integrity. The Variety team is led by John Nowak, president and CEO.  He is the third generation of the Nowak family and has been an active member of Variety for over 35 years. John is responsible for the day-to-day operations, customer service, and continued growth for all of Variety’s core services. John succeeded his father Ken in 1997 and his grandfather Norman as past presidents of Variety.

 

Russ Bielman is the route manager and second generation of the Bielman family to have worked at Variety. With over 26 years of vending experience at Variety he is responsible for  making sure that your vending machines are always stocked with the tasty treats you enjoy everyday by ensuring that the fleet, building, warehouse, and drivers are ready to go on a daily basis.
Keith Cole is the purchasing and warehouse manager for over 10 years and he is responsible for ordering all food, paper, and cleaning supplies as well as any equipment requirements. In addition, he is responsible for managing the warehouse organization, inventory control, and the warehouse employees that load and unload all of our stock.
Ken Denomme is Variety’s controller for the past 10 years and has been responsible for overseeing the accounting department, invoicing the schools on a timely basis, and handling the financial statements for each accounting period.
Kevin Denomme is Variety’s Logistics Manager and he monitors, manages and schedules the successful delivery process from when we receive product all the way until you receive your delivery. With his black belt in Six Sigma and over 20 years in the field he brings an extensive logistics knowledge to our team.
Alan Fink is the vice president of business development & operations and has over 25 years experience within the food service industry. Alan works closely with the school division on strategic planning, food/labor cost control, operations, and training. He is also responsible for new business development within the cafeteria and dining divisions.
Dennis Gibson has been with Variety for the past 10 years and is the executive chef responsible for all catering events, assisting with school food service production and providing customer service for charter schools. Dennis received his culinary degree from Oakland Community College and he is an active member of The Culinary Institute of America.
Greg Harmon has been with Variety for over 20 years and is the vice president and head of the school operations. His overall responsibilities include managing the entire division, including food safety, enforcement of standards, assisting with new sales, and account retention.
Tiffany Kloeffler is Variety’s customer service manager. She has over 10 years of food service experience and has worked with numerous charter schools in fully implementing their food service programs. Tiffany’s area of expertise includes customer service, menu design, regulations and safety procedures, employee development, and customer retention.
Tom Koller is Variety’s customer service manager. He acts as our Customer Service Manager to our vending division.
Damon Kurtz is the K-12 program specialist and he is responsible for new sales development, client relations, customer service, and account retention. Damon has worked with numerous charter school accounts for over 10 years and provides solid food service experience that includes best practices in cafeteria design and menu planning.
Reggie Massey is Variety’s food expediter and supervises our school drivers. Reggie has over 15 years of food service experience. He manages proper food loading into cambros, paper supplies, and he supervises driver schedules and standards. Reggie ensures on-time deliveries at all schools.
Rose Mullins is the route checkout and a customer service representative. She has over 20 years of food services experience and is responsible for the daily route checkout and success of the off-site service teams. Rose enforces Variety’s standards at the point of service and performs customer service for charter schools.
Jeanne Nowak is the director of human resources and is also a third generation Nowak family member. Jeanne is responsible for all personnel and employee functions for Variety’s 150 employees. Jeanne has been with Variety for over 30 years.
Larry Nowak is the vice president of client satisfaction and vending services and he too is a third generation Nowak family member. Larry manages all customer service and day-to-day vending operations, being directly responsible for the equipment, operations and customer service of both school and vending services. Larry has been with Variety for over 30 years.
Russ Nowak is active in all aspects of vending operation from warehouse to technical service. He currently assists both vending and the school division as a customer service manager. Russ is another third generation Nowak whose father Don, formerly vice president, handled operations. Russ has been a part of the Variety family for 40 years.
Joe Streeter is the commissary production manager with 30 years experience in the culinary field and multiple degrees in business as well as culinary arts. Joe manages production of all school food and assists with catering events, supervision of the kitchen culinary team, and ensuring the kitchen operating standards.
Doneise Turner is our K-12 Customer Service Specialist.  Her five plus years experience as a manager working in the school food service department gives her the knowledge and understanding of our client’s daily food service needs.  Her goal is to give customers the onsite food service department they need, while not having to incur the expense.
Peter Verbruggen is Variety’s Dining Solutions District Manager with over 35 years of experience in the markets of restaurants, hotels, private clubs, and contract services (B&I, Campus, Healthcare). Peter manages all of Variety’s of-site dining locations as well as all client strategic business objectives.
